Abstract
Do educational development projects led by Northern countries truly benefit developing states? This study examines the implementation and impact of the SOFATI educational project in Cameroon from 1987, using archival sources and testimonies from former students and teachers. While school construction and teacher training improved technical education, Canada also enhanced its global image. However, Cameroon remains reliant on external partners for major educational projects. Thus, technical assistance should prioritize strengthening local capacities to ensure long-term autonomy.
